Do you want to work with calmness and focus?
Are you looking to shift from feeling “busy, busy, busy” to “I have time”? Zen master Paul Loomans offers seven practical tools to help you become a mindful “time surfer” in your daily life
Clean desk, Happy mind
A workspace where you can work in a relaxed and focused manner leads to greater job satisfaction and improved performance. That’s why many organizations have a clean desk policy: keeping your desk as clear as possible.
How to ask for honest feedback
Shaping your work with job crafting
Every job has aspects that suit you and aspects that don't suit you so well. Even if you always enjoy going to work, there is still room to shape your job to suit your qualities and drives even better.
Double your qualities with the core quadrant
You strengthen yourself by focusing on what you are naturally good at, in order to become even better at it. In areas you are less good at, you will struggle to score an A, while developing your qualities will soon give you the highest result. However, doing what you are already good at does not mean it is easy.

Disruptive thinking in your work
Innovation comes from challenging the status quo. It often starts with the simple question "what if?". You think about how you would want something to be, despite the fact that it may not seem possible. To then experiment and see how you can create this. A great example; Netflix was created from a $40 fine at a video store and the question: 'What if you could rent a movie without being charged fines for returning it late?'
Why work doesn’t happen at work
Rethinking
" Rethinking is a way of thinking and acting, where you look at reality as it is and explore what you could do with it. Rethinking approaches a problem as raw energy; frustration that has not yet found its form. You use the energy of the problem for something new'.
This is how you get a creative brain
Creative thinking can be described as seeing common ground between concepts that at first sight do not have much in common. Every person has the ability to think creatively and you can stimulate this in yourself in various ways. You can increase your creativity by finding a different (stimulating) environment or by looking at things from a different perspective. But what is perhaps even more interesting and sustainable; you can actually increase your creativity in your brain.
Your talent in shape
Like everyone else, you have natural talents that determine the areas in which you can deliver top performance. If you do not pay attention to these talents, they are not yet fully developed. According to CliftonStrengths thinking, they are then 'raw' rather than 'mature'. An undeveloped talent is often unproductive and mainly focused on yourself. Whereas a developed talent is productive and mainly focused on others or on the outside world. Making ultimate use of your talents therefore also means not only excelling in what you do, but also helping your environment or others with it.
